100 Word Challenge Week #34

"How long will it take to get to the river?"
I buzzed, my new gold pan in hand.
"Not long, just follow me," Jake replied.
He then started hiking down the hillside at a fast pace. I started jogging behind him, tripping on a stone every so often. As we were running, I saw the odd daffodil on the verge of blooming. After what seemed like hours, we reached the river. The sun was already setting and the sky was a soft pink. Above the river sat an aged, rickety bridge. I immediately started panning for gold. The first few times, dirt and gravel just sprinkled through. I panned once more, when I searched, there was a huge chunk of gold!
